The undefeated Gennady Golovkin squares off against David Lemieux at the weigh-in for their bout at Madison Square Garden. Golovkin could bring some of that interest back the old fashioned way - with his fists. The big puncher from Kazakhstan, who has stopped his last 20 opponents within the distance, hopes to do it against another big puncher in Lemieux when the two meet with middleweight titles at stake.

David Lemieux, who brings a piece of the middleweight title into the ring himself, believes he is up to the challenge. The Canadian (34-2) has power of his own, stopping 31 opponents and believes he can stop Golovkin if the fight turns into the brawl it is expected to become.

This October 17th when WBA, IBO, and WBC “Interim” Middleweight Champion GENNADY “GGG” GOLOVKIN steps into the ring to face IBF Middleweight Champion DAVID LEMIEUX in a must-see Middleweight Championship Title unification bout.

I'm incredibly excited about this fight as I feel like it has the potential to be a seriously action packed, wild fight, while also potentially showcasing Golovkin's technical skills. Golovkin is interesting in that he CAN end his opponent's night very quickly, and sometimes he does, but he's also talked about dragging past fights out at times in order to give fans their much desired Big Drama Show.

Golovkin is coming off a thrilling 6th round TKO against Willie Monroe Jr. in Inglewood, CA. His popularity among the Hispanic population was on full display at The Forum, where he drew loud cheers throughout the night and even briefly spoke to the crowd in Spanish in the post-fight interview. He even brushed off the numerous times Monroe hit him flush as just wanting to draw the fight out a little longer to make a "Big drama show." Whatever the case, he's ultra violent, has thrashed the likes of Martin Murray (who had previously never been finished), Matthew Macklin, Gabriel Rosado, Marco Antonio Rubio, and Curtis Stevens en route to being the consensus best 160 lbs fighter on the planet. What's yout thought about the fight?

I'm not going to attempt to analyze this fight, because my colleagues have done a fine job already. What I will say, is that it's a treat to be able to finally see GGG up against a legitimate heavy hitter. There's always that "Anything can happen" factor, but my gut tells me that Golovkin will finish Lemieux, likely in the first half of the fight. What do you think?

It will be one of the most exciting unification title bout between Gennady Golovkin vs David Lemieux. Let's tune in for the Gennady Golovkin vs David Lemieux round by round coverage and fight update of this big event including fight results and video replay.
