Manny Pacquiao revealed he hurt his right shoulder during the training camp just three weeks before the ‘Fight of the Century’ and he wanted to postpone the bout! He had hoped to receive an anti-inflammatory injection the week of the fight but the Nevada State Athletic Commission denied permission for the shot. Then he said:“But one week before the fight my shoulder was getting better and better…” but later he added “I cannot use my right shoulder a lot […] but what we wanted to do we couldn’t do because of my shoulder. In the third round I already felt the pain in my shoulder. When I threw a lot of combinations I had to back off because it hurt.”

Floyd Mayweather Jr speak about his injuries at both hands during the post-fight press conference:“I had injuries also going into this fight […] and if he [Pacquiao] would have come out victorious, I would have said you know what I’ve got to show respect and say he was the better man, but I will always find a way to win.” Then ‘Money’ Mayweather said “Everyone was saying that I was scared and Floyd was going to lose. They said this guy could beat Floyd. Floyd is a coward. Floyd is a chicken…I made you guys eat your words.
