Nonito Donaire is up against the undefeated fighter Jessie Magdaleno in a 12 round fight for the WBO Super Batamweight Championship as the undercard of Pacquiao vs Vargas fight. This coming November 5 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, the former four weight division titlist Nonito Donaire, with a record of W37(24)-L3-D0, will try to defend his belt against the first solid contender he has faced in the last two years, when he fights southpaw Jessie Magdaleno with 24 years of age and a record of W23(17)-L0-D0. It will be a great fight to watch on between this two fighters.
Donaire possess a great personality, he is articulated and smart on the interviews, but inside the ring all those things don’t count. There is no doubt that Donaire has the experience, ring smarts and IQ to set traps, create openings and prepare his punches and perhaps that will be the toughest test for Magdaleno. But, the way Nonito has been hit in his last bouts it is a concern for me; against low ranked fighters he has not been able to avoid to get hit clean and has taken many punches that five years ago he would have been able to avoid. Maybe Nonito still can beat a young contender in the name of Jessie Magdaleno. Perhaps Donaire´s heart will allow him to do whatever he needs to get the victory. But there is no doubt his opponent is younger and hungrier to take his place at the spotlight.
The WBO Super Bantamweight Champion will be defending his title against fellow southpaw and unbeaten Jessie Magdaleno of Las Vegas at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, November 6th. The 12-round bout is on the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao vs Jessie Vargas clash and can be seen on pay per view in North America and on BoxNation in the UK. Donaire last fought against Hungary’s Zsolt Bedak back in April and stopped him in the third round. Magdaleno’s last outing took place in February when he stopped Rey Perez in two rounds.
Donaire had reunited with his father, Nonito Donaire Sr., after a lengthy estrangement for recent bouts, but though the younger Donaire said he and his father remain on good terms, he wanted to return to his Northern California home rather than stay in Las Vegas to train his son.
"My experience with Salas has been great the way he teaches. It's been incredible," said Donaire, who has been with Salas for about 10 weeks. "Being here in Vegas I've seen Salas around the gyms so many times and talked to him. He's an incredible guy and I decided to try him out. I saw him a few times how he goes about his training. I tried him for a week and I decided from then on this is the trainer who will get me [to] a different level." Donaire said in the interview.
So, what's your fight analysis for this fight? Would it be a good win for Donaire and rise again? Or Would his downfall for glory? And for Jessie Magdaleno, he has nothing to lose here, he has to test what he got through known toughest test of his boxing career.
