Gennady Golovkin vs Dominic Wade Boxing Replay

FIGHT UPDATE: Gennady Golovkin defeated Dominic Wade via 2nd round TKO!

Here's the update for Gennady Golovkin vs Dominic Wade fight at the Forum in Inglewood, CA on April 23, 2016.

Main Event: Gennady Golovkin vs. Dominic Wade.

Championship: WBA, IBF, WBC & IBO middleweight.

When: April 23, 2016.

Place: Forum, Inglewood, CA.

It is now for the cobra where Gennady Golovkin will defend his WBA and IBF Super middleweight titles against Dominic Wade in Forum, Inglewood, California, USA this Saturday, 23 April 2016. Golovkin who is taking this fight as a stepping stone towards potential mega fight later in the year against either Canelo Alvarez or Billy Joe Saunders. But Wade is no pushover who comes into the fight with unbeaten record of 18-0-0 12 KO’s. It will be an HBO boxing championship series (non-ppv) and the fight night is scheduled to start at around 10:00 pm ET. There are couple of other quality fights on the undercard with Roman Gonzalez taking on McWilliams Arroyo for the WBC World flyweight title while Kenia Enriquez will fight Amaris Quintana in what will be the light flyweight fight.

Gennady Golovkin faces Dominic Wade in a middleweight title fight, while Gonzalez puts his flyweight titles on the line against McWilliams Arroyo. Both fighters retained their belts on pay-per-view at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 17, and they did the same five months prior on HBO at The Forum.

The live coverage on HBO is set to begin at 10 p.m. ET, and the actual start time of Golovkin’s fight will depend on what Gonzalez does. When the two boxers last fought on PPV, Golovkin’s fight against Willie Monroe Jr. began at 10:41 p.m. ET because Gonzalez needed less than two full rounds to finish off his opponent. If Gonzalez’s fight is lengthier, like his ninth-round TKO of Brian Viloria in October, Golovkin might not get in the ring until after 11 p.m. ET.

What do you expect for the Golovkin vs Wade fight? I expect Golovkin to come in as he normally does, using pressure and looking to pick Wade apart with shots to the body and head. In contrast, I see Wade fighting very cautiously in the opening round, as he weathers the initial storm from Golovkin by using his long left jab to keep him at bay. What do you think?

Golovkin's first pay-per-view show from New York didn’t sell well outside the Garden itself, proof perhaps that Golovkin has to find a bigger fan base. But as he bides his time for Alvarez he is also chasing middleweight knockout records that compare to some of the best ever.

Will it be the best fight of the year? Or the most dominating fight of the year? Or the bad match-up of the year? Whatever it takes, we'll going to watch the Gennady Golovkin vs Dominic Wade sooner or later.
