Adrien Broner vs Shawn Porter Boxing Live Updates

Watch the Adrien Broner vs. Shawn Porter - June 20, 2015.

FIGHT UPDATE: Shawn Porter defeated Adrien Broner via Unanimous Decision!

Adrien Broner (30-1, 22 KOs) insisted on a catch weight fight if he were to enter the ring with Shawn Porter (25-1, 16 KOs), and while the latter and most boxing experts were befuddled by the demand, the two former welterweight champions will duke it out in Premier Boxing Champions’ main event Saturday in Las Vegas.

These are two powerful but also careful fighters. Each may try for an early knockout, but the longer it goes Porter has the advantage. Porter over Broner via decision.

Porter is a bruising and athletic fighter with good ring intelligence. His December 2013 victory over Devon Alexander earned him the IBF welterweight title, and his Round 4 TKO of Paulie Malignaggi in April 2014 solidified his status as one of the sport's rising stars.

Broner has a decent chin and will dig in and truly fight when pushed. He showed that in his losing effort against Maidana.

Unfortunately for Broner, Maidana also showed the blueprint for beating him in that fight. And it's a blueprint that Porter will be able to follow en route to a unanimous-decision victory.

Broner is coming off of a dominant unanimous decision victory over John Molina this past March. It was his third fight as a 140-pounder since moving back down in weight after losing his 147-pound title to Marcos Maidana. Porter is also coming off of a victory this past March, scoring a 5th round knockout of late replacement Erick Bone. Although details are still being worked out, our understanding is that the June 20 PBC card will likely take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, though a battle between the Ohio natives might be better suited for Broner's hometown of Cincinnati.

I'm going Porter by 2 round KO. Broner is quite the piece of work. Broner is everything that is wrong with black america and Porter is everything right. I know this shouldn't be a microcosm of a whole segment of population, but it is what it is. One is flasy, worried about swag and don't give a damn about respect. The other works hard, does what he is supposed to and tries do the right thing and be respectful.
I Want Porter to win so bad.

Porter maybe a big guy squeezing into the welterweight division, but there's probably a reason he forces his body into 147/144. Porter isn't necessarily known for his power and he isn't a knock out artist.

I'm quite surprised many are predicting (maybe hoping) for a Porter KO. Maidana has proven to be a bigger puncher and as mentioned Broner was able to survive. I expect this fight to 12 rounds.
